2nd & 3rd Class

Good morning everyone,

I hope you’re all keeping well. It’s hard to believe that we’re heading into the last week of the school year. Well done on all of your hard work this year. Looking at the pictures and videos over the past number of months; you all managed to make the best of a difficult situation. Thanks for all of your co-operation.

The work for the final week is available here . Again, these activities are just a guide. I would advise you to do the cooking activity as it’s quite tasty! Make sure to send in your pictures of you having fun to htownroom3@gmail.com.

Kind regards,

Mr. Kelly

Christmas Art

Students were delighted to put their art skills in action as they work on Christmas art projects.

Norman Motte & Bailey Castles

                                   Homework Projects

The pupils were given just one week to complete a homework project of their choosing.  The children presented projects about WW2, volcanoes, The Wright Brothers  and waterfalls to name but a few.  The standard was incredibly high and  pupils and teachers alike were very impressed by both the children’s projects and their presentation skills.

                        The Magic Finger Dioramas

We enjoyed Roald Dahl’s ‘The Magic Finger’ so much that we decided to depict our favourite scene using dioramas.

Wassily Kandinsky inspired Valentine’s Day Art

We had great fun practising how to tell the time.

St. Vincent de Paul

Today we proudly handed over a cheque for €215 to St. Vincent de Paul. We raised the money by designing, making and selling mini hats.

Thanks again to everyone who supported us.

Merry Christmas!

Mini HatsWe have really enjoyed setting up our mini hats business. We’ve learned about the different areas of responsibility in a company such as quality control, PR, advertising and stock control.

We are extremely proud that we have been able to raise so much money for St. Vincent de Paul. It’s hard to believe we sold out so quickly and we are very grateful to our wonderful customers !

Sincere thanks to everyone who supported our business.

Our Christmas Art

Stone Age HousesHaving learned about the Stone Age period recently we decided to construct Stone Age houses. We tried to use only the materials the Stone Age people would have used. We even attempted to use wattle and daub on a number of the houses. A very messy but enjoyable task!

Our Halloween Picasso Art

FootballToday Brendan Hayden and the Transition Year students from Coláiste Eoin took the senior classes for a coaching session. This will continue for six weeks.

All this week Mr. Murphy’s’s class have been enjoying the Food Dudes programme.Every day the pupils get two fruits to sample. So far they have tried cucumber, mange tout peas, peppers, apples, oranges, bananas and carrot. Today it was bananas and peppers. It seems like time is flying as we’re already taking our first steps in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season. The classroom is beginning to fill with festive song and some of the children are already generating ideas for their performances in our Christmas Concert.
