  1. Children: Morning Reception

School Gates open @ 9.10 am. Children must not arrive before this time and must not congregate outside the gate. Please wait in cars or arrive when gates are open. Only students will be allowed access past the gates. Parents are welcome to make an appointment to see any member of staff.

Red Route: (Signage in place)

Entry through pedestrian gate.

Room 6: Junior Infants: Ms Niamh Brennan
– Line up in the yard. (Designated area)

Room 5: Senior Infants and 1st Class: Ms Stephanie O’Connell

Computer Rm: 1st and 2nd Class: Ms Rachel Doyle
– Line up in the yard. (Designated area)

  • In this pod, the teachers will stagger entry to the school.
  • Children to sanitise hands before entry to classrooms.
  • Teachers and SNAs in this pod will wear lanyards with red markings.

Red pod:
10.50 – 11.00 – Break
12.30 – 1.00 – Lunch

Computer Room (1st and 2nd class): Middle yard and back field

Blue pod:
11.05 – 11.20 – Break
1.05 – 1.35 – Lunch

Room 4 (Ms Howard’s class): Middle yard
Room 3 (3rd and 4th class): Middle yard
Room 2 (4th and 5th class): Back field
Room 1 (5th and 6th class): Back field

  • Astro rotation – only within classes. No mixing of classes on astro.
  • Access to yard via designated doors.

  1. Afternoon Collection:
  • Where possible parents to wait in cars when collecting children. Where this is not possible, please keep a 2m distance from others and if possible, wear a face covering.

Red Pod:
All classes to exit though main front door.
Room 6 (Junior Infants – Ms Brennan): Exit school via pedestrian gate @ 1.55pm
Room 5 (Senior Infants – Ms O’Connell): Exit school via pedestrian gate @ 2.05
Room 5 (1st class – Ms O’Connell) and Computer Room (1st and 2nd Class – Ms Rachel Doyle): Exit school via pedestrian gate @ 2.55

Blue Pod:
All classes to exit through own doors.
Room 4 (Ms Howard’s class): Exit through own door via main gate @ 2.55 (Staff to supervise)
Room 3 (3rd and 4th class – Ms Kelly) : Exit through own door via main gate @ 2.55 (Staff to supervise)
Room 2 (4th and 5th class): Exit through own door via main gate @ 3.00 (Staff to supervise)
Room 1 (5th and 6th class – Mr Murphy): Exit through own door via main gate @ 3.00 (Staff to supervise)

  1. Movement throughout the building during the school day:
  • Children may only use areas designated for their pods. A barrier will be erected between the blue and red pods to ensure compliance. Mainstream staff and SNAs to comply where possible.
  • SEN team: Access to be discussed to ensure minimum contact between the groups.
  • Members of staff who must access all areas will wear green lanyards and face coverings when out and about.

  1. Access to office:
  • No children will be allowed access to the office.
  • All contact with Sandra to be through the protective hatch at a distance of 2 metres.

  1. Visitor access:
  • All visitors by appointment only.
  • Contact tracing forms to be filled in.
  • Sanitising to be carried out.
  • Masks must be worn.
  • Parents and other visitors are encouraged to email the school or phone with questions and queries.
  • Visitors to wait in school porch until called.

  1. Role of parents:

Parents can play their part by:

  • Agreeing to comply with social distancing when dropping and collecting children from school.
  • Teaching children good hand hygiene and positive respiratory etiquette.
  • Including a ziplock bag with tissues and hand sanitiser in child’s bag to be emptied of used tissues every evening.

  1. Use of materials:
  • Children to have own stationery. (No shared crayons etc)
  • Teacher desks to be fitted with screens to ensure safety. SNAs  and teachers to be provided with visors when in close contact with pupils.
  • Books may be shared but must be wiped down after use. Children to sanitise own hands after use.
  • IPads and computers: Computers will be distributed throughout classrooms. These are to be wiped down after use in classrooms.

  1. Toilets:
  • Each class group will be allocated toilet facilities, and these are the only toilets that will be accessible to them. Children will not be allowed to use toilets outside of the hall during break times or at any other time.
  • Cleaning will be carried out at regular intervals throughout the day: Toilets, door handles, windows, wiping down books, sanitising equipment etc.

  1. Isolation Room:
  • Isolation room is required if a suspected case in a child or staff member arises
  • Covid Box to be stored in the room: Non-Contact thermometer, masks, wipes, sanitiser etc.

  1. Suspected Case:
  • Case to be isolated with immediate effect in designated room. In case of child, parent to be contacted and HSE protocol to be followed. Contact tracing log vital at this point.
  • In case of staff member, assessment about ability to drive will be carried out and if necessary medical attention sought or member driven home. HSE protocol to be followed.
