St Joseph’s NS hurling/camogie team did their school proud as they came out join winners at a recent blitz held in Ballinakill Centre of Excellence. We were narrowly defeated in the first match 2-0 to 1-1 by Bearna Chlé. We knew we had it in us to get a victory and in the second match we were successful with a score line of 1-2 to 1-0.
In both matches Jack Weekes was outstanding in mid field and attained some fantastic scores. Josh Kelly played well in full forward and added a goal to our scoreboard. Emily Kelly worked steadily in midfield. Cian Weekes, Óran Keating, Conor Forde, William Whelan, Luke Kelly made up our defence line and made it very difficult for Bearna Chlé to score. L.J. Coleman and Katie Cahill worked well in the forwards.
We are joint winners of the Mixed Blitz and will be sharing the cup with Bearna Chlé. Well done to the St Joseph’s NS team.
